Baggies youth duo Ollie Bostock and Souleyman Mandey have been rewarded for their progress at academy and senior level with more international recognition.

Wales youth international Bostock, 19, has recently emerged as a first-team player under boss James Morrison and caught the eye on the wing with some bright displays.

Lichfield-based Bostock has been a regular in the Wales youth set-up through the age groups and captained the young Dragons at under-17s and under-19s level.

He scored his first senior goal in the 2-1 defeat at Oxford in Morrison's first game at the helm and has now made seven appearances. He has been with the club since the age of six.

Bostock joins Albion team-mate Alex Williams in the Wales under-21 ranks. Right-back Williams has five caps for Matt Jones' side and broke his ankle while training with them in September.

The young Welsh side face a new European Championship under-21 qualifying campaign and a double-header against Belarus and Denmark.

Also receiving of a first call at under-21s level is attack-minded midfielder Mandey.

Mandey, 20, is enjoying a breakthrough campaign with Leigh Downing's under-21s and reached the 10-goal mark for the season in a PL2 win at Ipswich earlier this month.

Mandey moved from the Austrian capital of Vienna to Birmingham as a young teen and moved north of the border to Rangers before switching to the Baggies in 2023.

Austria are also in European under-21 Championship action with clashes against Belgium and Belarus.

He was previously capped at under-17 level early in 2023.
