Eric Ramsay makes three West Brom changes for Blues trip - as new injury bites

Albion hunt for a first league victory since late December across the West Midlands in Birmingham City tonight.

Eric Ramsay's Baggies are looking to build on Saturday's progress and a point in the home stalemate against Stoke City, which finished goalless.

A quick turnaround in Birmingham has once again seen head coach Ramsay hampered by defensive availability issues.

As expected, there is no Chris Mepham for the clash at St Andrew's as a result of the hamstring injury sustained late on against the Potters. It came at the end of an improved rearguard display from Mepham and colleague Nat Phillips.

It was much-needed after the Baggies' woeful defensive form of late.

But Mepham joins George Campbell (hamstring) and Krystian Bielik (shoulder) as injury concerns - though big news from Birmingham is the latter, a promotion-winning captain with Blues - is fit enough for the bench.

Mepham has been replaced by left-back Charlie Taylor, once again drafted into a more unnatural centre-back role.

That is one of three changes for boss Ramsay, who has also recalled Danny Imray and Aune Heggebo.

New loan recruit Imray replaces Alfie Gilchrist at right-back and Heggebo comes in for Daryl Dike in like-for-like changes.

The head coach has stuck with the 4-2-3-1 formation he brought in against Stoke having switched from his more familiar 3-4-3.

The change was welcomed by Baggies fans and proved successful as Albion recorded a first clean sheet since December 12.
