Lewis Cox's predicted West Brom team: Formation switch and midfield boost for Stoke amid loan bows?

It has been a tumultuous week for Albion but the biggest couple of hours come at the end - a crunch clash with Stoke.

The week has brought boardroom unrest, slipping into the Championship relegation zone, a transfer deadline day of exits and young arrivals and unfounded rumours of fisticuffs at the training ground.

Ultimately Eric Ramsay must try to see out his fourth week in charge at Albion with a desperately-needed first victory.

Mid-table Stoke are the visitors to The Hawthorns and Ramsay admitted this week he had some long and hard thinking to do over how he shapes up his side against the Potters, amid the ongoing 3-4-3 formation debate, a shape that brought frustration among fans.

There is a feeling in some quarters that Ramsay will shift gear and revert Albion to a back four against Stoke and I would go along with that.

With George Campbell and Krystian Bielik still injured I can see loanee Danny Imray at right-back for a home debut - unless Ramsay opts for the more lesser-spotted Alfie Gilchrist.

Nat Phillips and Chris Mepham will have to start as the two centre-backs and I would elect Callum Styles over Charlie Taylor at left-back.

It has to be the clash Alex Mowatt makes a first start under Ramsay. Mowatt has not started since Ryan Mason's final game - the late heartbreak at Leicester - and he has been missed. I cannot see beyond him starting alongside Jayson Molumby.
