The head coach stressed "the most important thing" to him is the attitude his squad show at the club's training ground and the environment created.

Mason added that those are factors that must remain in place regardless of the Baggies' form and results.

"It's progressing, there is still loads of work to do," was Mason's assessment of his time at the helm at The Hawthorns so far.

"I think most importantly for me, the feeling inside the training ground with the group, the togetherness, the belief, that's the most important thing.

"That's there and then their attitude every day to work for each other, to put the effort in, has been top drawer.

"So that's something that needs to stay and it will stay.

"Then hopefully we can pick up as many results as possible because we know this league is challenging. But we're a team that have so much belief in ourselves and we want to show that in every game."

Mason, the former Tottenham assistant and youth coach, underlined the importance of belief in his ranks in Albion's bid for an encouraging opening couple of months of the head coach's tenure.

"A couple of results back-to-back can change the dynamic either way," he added. "So I think most importantly, we have to believe in what we're doing and we do.

"I certainly do, the coaches, the players (do). Obviously results accelerate things. It enhances belief."
