West Brom striker given free transfer and joins up with Baggies hero in League One
Devante Cole has left Albion on mutual consent after a termination of his contract and is poised to join Darren Moore's Port Vale.
Striker Cole, 30, spent just over a year at The Hawthorns having arrived as a free agent last summer and in that time made just one competitive start - in a miserable EFL Cup exit at League Two Fleetwood.
He had another year to run on his Baggies contract but has been allowed to exit the club after all parties came to an agreement.
Cole, the former Barnsley striker, is set to join up with newly-promoted League One strugglers Vale - managed by Albion defensive hero Moore.
Cole was on the fringes throughout his time at Albion having been signed by the club last August under head coach Carlos Corberan as Albion sought an extra body as cover in the final third.
He made 14 Championship appearances for the club, all as a substitute, though his final outing was on February 1 in the defeat at Plymouth under Tony Mowbray and at times failed to make the matchday squad.
