Albion's first round EFL Cup tie at home to Derby County on Tuesday is bound to bring changes.

Rotation is a given at this stage of the competition - even in the opening week of the campaign as managers and head coaches use the opportunity to shuffle their pack and more importantly assess the squad.

It will be no different for Albion's Ryan Mason at the Baggies host the Rams at The Hawthorns in what is a dress rehearsal for the stadium's 125th anniversary fixture in the Championship in just over one month's time.

Albion are still eyeing work in this month's transfer window before its September 1 deadline. There are several light areas in the squad and a few fitness concerns, but regardless there will be changes where the head coach can offer important minutes for Tuesday.

In my predicted side below - which is admittedly tough for such a cup tie - I've gone with half-a-dozen alterations for the side that started against Blackburn on Saturday.

That includes one in goal with Joe Wildsmith to replace number one Josh Griffiths and come in to face his former club.

I've gone with two changes in the back four. One is enforced and George Campbell will replace the suspended Darnell Furlong at right-back. Caleb Taylor has also had the nod, I reckon he will come in for Torbjorn Heggem.
