West Brom is home to playmaker Filip Krovinovic
Filip Krovinovic already feels right at home with Albion as he declared: “It feels like I’ve been here for 15 years.”
The Croatian playmaker became the first of nine summer signings for new boss Slaven Bilic when he joined the Baggies on a season-long loan from Benfica last month.
Krovinovic, 23, has wasted little time endearing himself to supporters with his early performances and has paid tribute to team-mates and the club’s staff for helping him settle so quickly.
He said: “It has been really easy to settle and I feel like I have been here for 15 years!
“I like it a lot and I didn’t really expect that because I didn’t know too many things about England.
“The people are very kind and good to me, which surprised me. They are amazing.
“The weather, OK, is so-so, but I don’t have a problem with that! The people are very approachable, very friendly and they like to have jokes with me which I really like.
“These kind of things are really important when you come to a new club and a new country. It helps a lot because it means you are in a good place with everyone at the club.”
Krovinovic has featured in every one of Albion’s matches so far, starting the first two Championship fixtures and then coming off the bench for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup defeat to Millwall. A former Croatia under-21 international, he was quickly identified by Bilic as a player who could add creativity, following his appointment at The Hawthorns in June.
The Baggies travel to Luton tomorrow and Krovinovic, who began his career at NK Zagreb, claims he is so far loving the challenge of the Championship.
He said: “I like that it is not easy. I like that we have to push harder to win.
“I think as a team we will improve. We are improving every day. Personally, I think I have done well but I know I can improve in some things.
“We are prepared for Luton, the team is ready and we want to go out and get the win.
“The fans have been sending me nice comments such as pushing me to keep playing well for the team.
“Those messages give me a lot of confidence because the fans are very important to the team and also to me. The fans are with us and they want to push us forward.”
