Exclusive: West Brom close in on Leipzig winger Oliver Burke

The highly-rated 20-year-old is understood to have travelled to the Baggies training ground for a medical ahead of a proposed switch from the Bundesliga.

At this stage it is unclear whether the deal will be a permanent transfer or a loan deal.

Burke, a Scotland international, joined Leipzig from Nottingham Forest for £13million last summer but made only five league starts.

He was omitted from the German club’s squad for last weekend’s opening fixture at Schalke and had been linked with a move to Crystal Palace.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis has been on the lookout for attacking players this summer and Burke, comfortable on both flanks, fits the bill.
