He joins Blind Dave Heeley, freeman of The Hawthorns, and a 28-strong team raising funds for club charity The Albion Foundation.

The cycle ride, which is sponsored by Stourbridge pallet company Bache Group, is now in its third year.

It is part of a week of charity activity under the #AlbionCares umbrella leading up to the Foundation Day at The Hawthorns this Saturday.

Head coach Tony Pulis and star striker Salomon Rondon have already handed out free tickets to nurses from Sandwell Hospital and service men and women from the Stafford 22 Signal Regiment.

More free tickets are being given to the Help for Heroes charity, Birmingham Children's Hospital, Russells Hall Hospital, mental health charity Kaleidoscope, Action for Children and more.

Fans are being urged to bring unwanted football kit and boots to the game on Saturday to donate to The Jonas Olsson Foundation, who will then hand them to slum children in India.

This week, six Albion fans have also headed out to Kenya on behalf of The Albion Foundation to take part in teaching and construction projects.

Sallyann Wright, Sallyann Edwards, Paula Burns, Neil Burns, Andrea Walters and Sheriden Rhodes have helped to pay for the trip through their own fund-raising efforts. It is the sixth such visit since the first in May 2014.

Tickets for Saturday's game against Southampton have gone on general sale.
