The Potters took the lead in the 12th minute through Julien Ngoy, but Berahino – who was ruled out of Saturday's game with a virus – levelled things up after the break in the 64th minute.

Two minutes later Brunt found the net with a whipped free-kick from the edge of the penalty area in his second game back from a long-term knee injury.

James Shan's side have now won their last three games in a row and are level on points at the top of Division Two alongside Swansea City.

James Morrison and Hal Robson-Kanu both played alongside Brunt as one of the team's three senior players over 23, while Brendan Galloway, Jonathan Leko, and Sam Field also featured.
