No second helpings of turkey for James Morrison

Albion midfielder James Morrison wishes he could have downed a few Christmas tipples and filled his face with turkey – but understands the importance of preparing well for the congested festive fixture list.

The team met up at 6pm on Christmas Day to travel down to Swansea, and it can be difficult for those like Morrison who have children. But the Scottish international

has a two-year-old daughter, who this year understands who Father Christmas is for the first time.

Although the 29-year-old midfielder joked that one of his best Christmases was the one he was laid up with injury. "When I was injured and had Christmas off, I'm not going to lie, it was a good time," he said. "But the Boxing Day game and on the 28th – it is part of football and you get used to it."

And he added: "You look forward to games because even though you're knackered you have another game.

"I enjoy it but I'm also disappointed that I'm not having 10 pints and a turkey."

Boss Tony Pulis added: "I think the game has changed. I think the professionalism that has come into the game is absolutely first class and if you can't trust them for one morning or one afternoon then there's something wrong."
