Albion's Craig Dawson told not to dwell on mistake
Alan Irvine hopes Albion defender Craig Dawson won't dwell too much on his 'Jekyll and Hyde' performance against West Ham.
Dawson netted the opening goal to get the Baggies off to a good start but later took the blame for West Ham's winner when he failed to mark scorer James Tomkins.
The 24-year-old, who also missed a chance to equalise in the second half, has been a regular under Irvine and the head coach hopes he takes any disappointment in his stride.
"I think he had some highs and lows on Tuesday night," said Irvine. "He's been performing at a good level for most of the season but having got the goal he was the one that was marking Tomkins.
"He also had the chance to get us back into it later on but that's the highs and lows of being a player.
"What's important is you don't get too carried away with the highs and you certainly don't get too low with the lows."
Irvine will assess the fitness of injured trio Chris Brunt, James Morrison and Sebastien Pocognoli ahead of Saturday's trip to Hull.
It is a game the boss enters under huge pressure, looking to end a run of four straight defeats, having come in for more flak from supporters on Tuesday.
