In 1993, Berahino was born during the Burundi civil war and lost his father four years later.

After escaping the war-torn country, Berahino was separated from his family, including his mother and sisters.

Eventually, the Albion man arrived in England but could not be reunited with his mother until DNA tests proved that they were mother and son.

Berahino talks about his experience of living with a new family in a foreign country and learning the English language.

Friday June 20 marks World Refugee Day which aims to raise money in a bid to help people who are in a similar position to Berahino's childhood.
