Billy Jones issues Eden Hazard warning ahead of Chelsea clash

Billy Jones today gave Albion a Hazard warning ahead of tonight's clash with Chelsea and admitted the Baggies cannot rely on hard-luck stories to save them from relegation.

Jones is hoping to win his battle against a knee injury to face the Premier League leaders at The Hawthorns and tackle the in-form Eden Hazard, who is fresh from Saturday's match-winning hat-trick against Newcastle.

And with the Baggies in the drop zone after just one win in 15 league games, Jones knows the Belgium international will be their chief threat.

"He is a man in form," said the Albion defender. "You can see how well they're playing and how well he is playing individually and we know it's going to be a hard game, not just because of Hazard but also the other world-class players they have.

"He's the type of player you want to be proving yourself against and he is up there with the world-class players in this league."

Albion slid into the bottom three as another controversial penalty award condemned them to a 3-1 defeat at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The decision to penalise Ben Foster for an apparently clean challenge on Marouane Chamakh was the latest in a string of contentious calls, including the stoppage-time penalty that denied them victory against tonight's opponents at Stamford Bridge in November.

But Jones, who faces a late fitness test on a sore knee, said: "We've spoken about it in the dressing room and a lot of teams who have been relegated in the past will talk about how unlucky they were but we need to make our own luck.

"We've got two home games coming up now and hopefully we can turn around this bad result on Saturday."

Chelsea's controversial draw in November led to an angry tunnel melee in which Blues boss Jose Mourinho labelled the Baggies 'Mickey Mouse'.

And Jones said: "Maybe having that comment made against will spur on the lads who played on the day and spur on all of us.

"But we know we have to concentrate on our performance as a team."
