Chris Wood's feeling at home with Millwall
West Brom striker Chris Wood is keen to extend his loan spell at Millwall after an impressive start to his time with the Lions.
Wood bagged his third goal in six starts as they drew 3-3 with Birmingham on Tuesday and has formed a strong partnership with Darius Henderson.
And the New Zealand international, who is out of the first-team picture at The Hawthorns, is keen to stay beyond Christmas, when his loan is due to end.
"Definitely it's something I want to do," said Wood.
"I'm enjoying my football and creating chances as well as scoring goals.
"It's working out well with Darius. He's strong, physical and he has one hell of a shot on him."
And Millwall boss Kenny Jackett is also keen to keep the 20-year-old.
"I've kept in touch with them (Albion) and they've asked me about his progress," said Jackett.
"That's more the coaching staff rather than the powers that be.
"There hasn't been any negotiation and we're just concentrating on the games at the moment.
"We've kept in touch with some very good people at West Brom. They're very keen to see how he's doing.
"We have him up until Christmas.
"With regular football we believe he has it in him. That was why I brought him to the club in the first place.
"He did well playing two games as he has this week after playing for New Zealand against Tahiti home and away.
"He got back late Thursday. He's very keen to play and do well. We've seen a steady improvement in Chris as he's been with us."
Wood flew 26,000 miles during the international break to play for his country and admitted: "It does take a toll on the body.
"I just make sure my recovery is right. We just have to deal with it.
"I'm satisfied. I had two other chances that I should have scored (against Blues).
"I'll have a go at myself on those but I'm happy with what I did though."
"As long as I'm in those positions it's okay."
