Big boys still big for Albion boss

Albion boss Roberto Di Matteo has insisted the Premier League's 'big boys' are as powerful as ever despite the Baggies headlining a weekend of upsets at Arsenal.

Di Matteo's men won 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium in a weekend that also saw Tottenham beaten by West Ham, Manchester United and Liverpool held to draws by West Ham and Sunderland respectively and champions Chelsea defeated, albeit by big-spending Manchester City.

But, while the Hawthorns head coach welcomed the surprise results, he believes the gulf is still huge between the Premier League's 'haves' and 'have-nots.'

He said: "It makes the Premier League interesting if smaller clubs are able to get good results against the big clubs.

"I have been saying the gap between the smaller clubs and big clubs is massive. I still believe it is, even though every now and then you might have a surprise result. I think the gap is still massive.

"In terms of squad size and budget they're on a completely different planet"
