Rico Browne has excelled in his new position at right-back under Walsall interim Darren Byfield.

Browne has come in from the cold since Byfield took interim charge and has helped Walsall keep back-to-back clean sheets against Crewe Alexandra and Cambridge United respectively since switching to full-back.

The 22-year-old was forced off with a knock in the second half during their 3-0 victory at Crewe, but recovered to play 90 minutes in their goalless draw with Cambridge on Tuesday

He had previously not started in the league since a 2-0 defeat at the U's on New Year's Day, but Byfield has been glowing in his praise of the youngster.
