"Class" - Walsall defender Evan Weir backed to kick on after winning return

Mat Sadler feels Evan Weir can benefit from his recent spell out of the team after Walsall beat Shrewsbury Town 2-1 at Croud Meadow on his return.

The Irishman had struggled for consistency before Sadler left him out of the squad for the Saddlers' 2-2 draw at Grimsby Town and 2-0 home defeat against MK Dons. 

Weir made his comeback in Shropshire and played an instrumental role in both goals, as his free-kick deliveries ultimately led to Priestley Farquharson's match-winning brace.

Weir praised after Walsall win

Sadler said: "His set plays are class but we've got a few. Courtney got two assists against Grimsby, Evan also with his long-throws.
