The Shrews have climbed 12 points clear of safety after reeling off victories over  Barrow, Swindon Town, Notts County, Accrington Stanley and Salford City respectively.

A sixth straight success against local rivals Walsall on Saturday would equal a tally last achieved in early 2023.

But Cowan has also warned that wins won't always be forthcoming and has stressed the importance of sticking together regardless of results.

“It's going great now, and it's brought everyone back together. This is how I remember the club, which is great," Cowan told Shropshire Star reporter Luke Powell.
