Walsall handed Courtney Clarke injury boost ahead of Shrewsbury Town clash

Courtney Clarke is set to be available when Walsall travel to local rivals Shrewsbury Town in the lunch-time kick-off on Saturday.

The 22-year-old was forced off with a knee problem during the latter stages of the Saddlers' 2-0 home defeat against MK Dons on Monday, which extended their winless run to seven games. 

However, Clarke was up for media duty at Essington on Thursday and confirmed himself that he will be fit for the weekend.

"Yes I'm good. It's just a little knock, it felt bad at the time, but I'm fine," Clarke said. 

"I've got a lot of games in those legs this year."

Since joining from non-league Eastbourne Borough last summer, Clarke has scored twice and set-up six more in 40 appearances for Walsall in all competitions this term.
