Mat Sadler confirms Walsall won't be extending Kemar Roofe's contract after talks
Mat Sadler has confirmed that Walsall won't be extending Kemar Roofe's contract with the club.
The 33-year-old signed a nine-week deal with his hometown club in early November and made four appearances in all competitions.
His only start, which came in a 2-1 win at Stevenage in the EFL Trophy in December, was his first in a competitive game in 20 months.
Roofe suffered a groin injury in a 2-0 win at Gateshead in the FA Cup later that week and was ruled out for six to seven weeks after undergoing scans.
Since, Roofe's initial contract expired at the end of January, as Sadler was due to hold talks with the former Jamaican international.
