Alfie Chang hails initial Walsall loan for helping get his career back on track
Alfie Chang says his previous loan spell at Walsall provided him with the platform to get his career back on track.
The midfielder made his breakthrough with Birmingham City in the Championship in 2022, but saw his exciting rise derailed by a serious knee injury in the summer of 2023.
Chang would go on to spend 17 months on the side lines, before stepping up his road to recovery on loan at Walsall last term.
In total, the 23-year-old made eight appearances for the Saddlers towards the back end of the campaign - including in their 1-0 defeat against AFC Wimbledon in the League Two play-off final at Wembley.
"It's nice to come in fully fit. I came in on the way back from injury last year so it was a bit different for me.
