The Saddlers' extended their winless run to five matches after losing 2-0 at Bristol Rovers and 3-1 at home to Barnet. 

They have collected just six points from a possible 24 since beating Crewe Alexandra 1-0 on Boxing Day and the supporters' patience is wearing thin.

Walsall have collected just six points from their last eight games in League Two.

The jury was most definitely out at 5pm on Saturday. 

Large sections of the home crowd had spent periods of the second half chanting for Sadler to be sacked, and those that stayed until the bitter end, shared the same sentiment. 

For Sadler, his comments regarding instant gratification did little to fan the flames, and was perhaps naive at best. 

Sadler has been at the helm for two-and-a-half seasons and has been provided with more time than most to make a success of things.

It has been a spell of highs and lows, but it always felt like he was entering 'make or break' territory heading into the current campaign.
