Chang, who recently returned to Birmingham following a loan spell at League Two side Bristol Rovers, previously enjoyed a successful loan at Walsall last season.

According to reports, the 23-year-old has agreed a move back to the Bescot Stadium, where he spent the second half of last season.

Chang scored his first senior goal for Walsall in a 2-0 play-off first-leg win over Chesterfield - who the Saddlers visit tomorrow.

However, his early time at the club was not without challenges. He had to wait until the end of March for his first appearance, a 0-0 draw at Gillingham, and did not start a League Two match until Walsall’s clash with Newport on 21 April.

Born in Worcester, Chang joined the Birmingham City Academy at Under-10 level and progressed through the youth setup, signing his scholarship agreement in 2019 and his first professional contract in 2021.

In August 2023, Chang suffered a significant knee injury in training, which included tears to the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments, the medial collateral ligament, and the meniscus, keeping him out for the entire 2023/24 season.

After 522 days on the sidelines, he made his long-awaited return to first-team action for Birmingham on 11 January 2025, coming on as a second-half substitute against Lincoln City in the FA Cup.

Following his loan at Walsall, Chang joined Bristol Rovers on a season-long loan in September 2025, which included an option to buy.

He made an immediate impact on his debut on 6 September, assisting the third goal in a 3-2 victory over Newport County.

Chang made 19 appearances in all competitions before his loan was terminated on 6 January 2026.
