'It drives you more' - Jamille Matt on his quest for redemption at Walsall
Walsall captain Jamille Matt says the experience of last season has increased his "drive" to achieve success with the club.
The 36-year-old scored 12 times for the Saddlers last term, as they infamously blew a 12-point lead at the League Two summit to miss out on promotion.
A 1-0 defeat to AFC Wimbledon in the League Two play-off final added salt into the gaping wounds, but Walsall have recovered well to propel themselves into another promotion race this term.
And while Matt has no intentions of dwelling on the past, he does feel that lessons can be learned from those that were there to experience it.
'It will drive you more' - Matt on lessons learned at Walsall
"I don't think you touch on it, you learn from it," Matt said.
"You've been there before and it will drive you more. What have you learned from those experiences? And how can you implement the lessons learned from it?
