'My biggest supporter' - Walsall's Charlie Lakin on the legacy of his late grandfather

A tear spilled down his cheek at the very mention of his son and wife watching in the stands. 

Lakin had just scored in the play-off semi-final second leg against Chesterfield to book a date at Wembley for just the second time in the Saddlers' history. 

Lakin: "The main priority is doing it for my son"

The football pitch has been his natural habitat for as long as Lakin can remember, but becoming a father has provided him with an extra incentive in life.

"Being where I am in my career since having a kid has really changed the way I think about football," Lakin explained.

"I want to be there for him as much as possible and I never thought that would've been the case since having my little boy.
