Walsall could be top of League Two at Christmas for the season year in a row.

Just two points separate the table-topping Saddlers and opponents Notts County, who sit above third-place Swindon Town on goal difference.

A draw would be enough to keep Walsall top at Christmas for the second year on the bounce, unless Swindon beat Crawley Town by three or more goals at the County Ground later in the day.

Mat Sadler's men dropped points against his former club Shrewsbury Town last time out, after drawing 1-1 at Bescot, but are unbeaten in four league games (winning three).

Form on the road has been particularly strong with Walsall winning each of their last six away games across all competitions.

Three of those wins have come in the league and the Saddlers boast the best away record in the division - collecting 20 points from a possible 30 so far this season.

Meanwhile, only Bromley (22) and Cambridge United (21) have picked up more points on home soil than County (20), who have won three successive matches in League Two.
