Kanu has caught the eye since he was borrowed from the Addicks in August, scoring 11 goals in 18 games across all competitions for Walsall this term.

The 21-year-old has plundered eight goals in his last 10 and has found the net in each of his last five appearances, including an early rocket in the 1-1 draw against Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

Charlton boss Nathan Jones has claimed that the club would consider recalling Kanu and fellow loanee Micah Mbick, who has scored five league goals for League Two rivals Colchester United.

"Yes [we're speaking to Charlton]. You know the script, this is what happens," Sadler said.
