The midfielder, who arrived from A-League side Macarthur FC on a free transfer in the summer, emerged from the bench just past the hour to devastating effect.

Within moments of entering the field, Hollman broke free down the left and delivered an inch-perfect pass for Rico Richards to equalise, after Carl Piergianni had initially headed the hosts into the lead.

His performance was undoubtedly his best yet in Walsall colours and Sadler was pleased to see Hollman seize his chance.

'He had a point to prove'

Hollman made his first Walsall appearance in almost two months at Stevenage on Tuesday.

"He had a point to prove. We've spoken about how hard that has been for him and it could be one of those nights where everyone's respect level goes up for him all of a sudden," Sadler noted.

"Jake hasn't had the chance to show that. He has had injuries, he's had a team doing well and competition for places because we're blessed in that midfield area.
