Mat Sadler insists Walsall will benefit from Terry Connor bringing a "different perspective" on the game, after his appointment as interim assistant was confirmed last week.

The former Wolves manager has been in the building at Essington since the end of October, but officially made his debut in the dugout in the Saddlers' 4-2 win at Newport County on Saturday.

Connor succeeded Chris Powell, who ended his short-lived stay at Bescot after just 14 days to become Jack Wilshere's right-hand man at Luton Town.

Sadler feels the addition of Connor will be a positive for himself as a manager and is eager to learn from his experience.

"I really look forward to learning from him because he brings in a very different perspective on things, which is really good for me," Sadler said.
