EFL Trophy Round of 32 draw details as Walsall reach the knockout stages
Walsall's progression into the EFL Trophy round of 32 has been confirmed following Northampton Town's 2-1 win over Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday night.
They will be ball No 11 in Thursday's draw, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports News at 2:30pm.
The draw, which remains regionalised until the semi-final stage, will be split into two sections.
After finishing runners-up in Group C of the Southern section, Walsall will face a trip to either Stevenage, Leyton Orient, Colchester United and Luton Town.
The round of 32 ties will take place on the week commencing December 1.
This is the first time Walsall have qualified for the knockout stages in successive seasons since 2020.
After opening the competition with a 3-1 success at local rivals Shrewsbury, Walsall fell to a 1-0 home defeat against eventual group winners Northampton.
They concluded the group with a goalless stalemate against Chelsea under-21s - gaining the extra point via a 4-2 penalty shoot-out win.
Last season, the Saddlers beat League One side Reading on penalties in the round of 32, before bowing out 4-2 to eventual winners Peterborough United in the next round.
