Walsall confirm plans to appoint new interim assistant after Chris Powell's exit
Mat Sadler has confirmed Walsall will look to appoint a replacement for Chris Powell who left his role as interim assistant earlier this week.
The 56-year-old spent just two weeks in the job after temporarily replacing Gary Waddock, who has stepped aside from his duties for a number of months to undergo ankle surgery.
Powell ended his short-lived spell with the Saddlers to become Jack Wilshere's assistant following his appointment as Luton Town manager on Monday.
Sadler has revealed that conversations are taking place to bring in a new interim assistant, with the club hoping to have a clearer picture on the situation over the coming days.
"It was an unfortunate part of the interim title, we always knew that that could happen along the way," the Walsall boss admitted.
