Walsall boss Mat Sadler issues Harrison Burke injury update and explains Rico Browne call

Mat Sadler is optimistic that Harrison Burke's knee issue won't prove to be long-term after the Walsall defender had a scan this week.

The 23-year-old, who had started each of the Saddlers' previous nine games, was forced to sit out their 1-1 draw at Crawley Town on Saturday.

Burke did train towards the end of the week, but went for a scan, which Sadler confirmed identified an old knee injury, which he has been nursing.

Sadler fears that the home fixture against Barrow is likely to come "too soon" for Burke, although he does anticipate him to return for their trip to Cheltenham Town the following weekend.

"Harrison had a scan in the week and there is a knee issue which we think is an old knee injury which was detected," boss Sadler said.
