Max Power sees red card rescinded after Walsall sending off

Sunderland’s Max Power has seen the red card he picked up against Walsall rescinded by the FA.

The 25-year-old was dismissed in the first-half as the two teams played out a 2-2 draw at the Banks’s on Saturday.

Power was given his marching orders for a challenge on Liam Kinsella.

But both Walsall manager Dean Keates and Sunderland boss Jack Ross said they felt the decision was harsh when speaking post-match.

And at an appeal yesterday, it was rescinded by the FA.

It means Power has been named in the Sunderland squad taking on Barnsley tonight.
