Walsall aiming to pile on the Bolton misery
Jon Whitney is confident Walsall can capitalise on off-the-field unrest when they take on Bolton tomorrow.
The Trotters are sat third in League One but have been rocked by financial uncertainly following the publication of their long-awaited accounts yesterday.
Information given to Companies House showed Wanderers have ongoing losses of £11million a year.
Meanwhile, co-owners Ken Anderson and Dean Holdsworth remain at loggerheads over the sale of star player Zac Clough. And now Whitney wants to inflict more misery on the Trotters as Walsall look to extend a five match unbeaten run.
"We are determined to continue our good form and we now have a mouth-watering tie at Bolton," he said.
"We are looking forward to it and we are ready for it as well.
"This is a real opportunity for us. We aren't going there thinking this is a free hit. We go there believing we can beat them.
"They are in a bit of turmoil with their owners. We will look to take advantage of that. It's something to exploit.
"We have depth in the squad. On the bench we have got some real quality. Defensively we are sound but we are also an attacking threat. We are looking forward to it."
Meanwhile, Whitney confirmed Reece Flanagan looks set to miss the rest of the season after dislocating his shoulder.
The 22-year-old has not played this campaign after tearing his anterior cruciate knee ligament in April 2016.
"Reece dislocated his shoulder so that's a bit of a dampener," the boss said.
"He is seeing a specialist next week because he has done it before.
"We need to look and see if that's is going to need an operation.
"But he is still in good spirits and at least it wasn't his knee. That is a positive.
"It may be a blessing in disguise because it gives him more time with his knee.
"And even if he does need an operation, he will be ready for pre-season.
"It means he won't be back this year but he will be fit and raring to go next season.
"He can relax a little bit and come back even stro
