The 20-year-old, who can play at right-back or in central defence, scored once in 16 appearances for the National League outfit after joining on loan last summer.

And the former Oldham youngster admits he is pleased to be gaining more first team experience at the Deva Stadium.

"I really enjoyed my time there first time around and I'm looking forward to going back," Vassell said.

"It wasn't what I expected and I think it's a competitive league with lots of quality.

"It is physical and some teams are direct but there are others who look to play and it's a good standard for me to test myself.

"I had a little injury which set me back and I missed a few games but I've worked hard to get myself back fit and so I'm looking forward to going back and playing more games again now.

"I could train as much as I want but games are what are going to make you better and this season was the first time I've played a long run in the team.

"It's improved me as a player and a person, on and off the pitch to be honest.

"The lads were great and I settled in straight away. They made me feel welcome so I'm excited to be going back."
