Erhun Oztumer claims goal of the month accolade
Erhun Oztumer has won the Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month award for October, following his emphatic opener against Swindon Town.
The 25-year-old claimed the award by receiving over half of the public vote, beating out competition from Peterborough's Chris Forrester and Bristol Rover's Matty Taylor.
Lead Sky Bet EFL Goal of the Month judge and Sky Sports Pundit Don Goodman said: "For me the vision is what makes this goal so great. His reading of the game is up there with the best to latch onto the loose pass before the pinpoint strike to beat the keeper from nearly 50 yards out.
"Lawrence Vigouroux, the Swindon keeper, isn't even too far out of position, but the power and trajectory of the shot left him stranded."
Oztumer said: "I'm delighted to accept the award, not just for me but on behalf of my teammates as well.

"It was a memorable goal. I just remember their right back trying to pass the ball in inside and I've read it early, took a touch and seen the goalkeeper off his line.
"I just thought I'd give it a try and luckily it's gone in. To be honest I thought the second one in the game was potentially better because of the pass from Kevin Toner but I'll take this one!
"It's the third time this season that I've tried to pull it off from that sort of range so I'm glad one of them came off.
"It ranks right up there in terms if the goals I've scored. I've never scored from that distance before and possibly won't again so it's definitely one I won't forget."
