Erhun Oztumer: I'm in the form of my life right now at Walsall

Saddlers magician Erhun Oztumer believes he is in the form of his life after his stunning two-goal display against Swindon Town on Saturday.

The 25-year-old scored two magnificent goals to down the Robins at the County Ground to reach seven for the campaign – more than he managed in the whole of last season. And Oztumer – who was a non-league star at Dulwich Hamlet before getting his big break with Peterborough United – believes he has found a home after two years of flitting in and out of the Posh first team.

"I am enjoying my football," said the Turkish-born midfielder, who will hope to carry his form into Saturday's derby date with Coventry City. "It's one of those things where some clubs are right for you and others aren't.

"Right now I am happy."

Oztumer's display earned him a place in the EFL's team of the week, but he was full of praise for his team-mates too – particularly those defending behind him.

"I am happy for Joe Edwards," said Oztumer. "He has come in and played midfield. He's always joked he is a midfielder, and him and skip in midfield were brilliant. Their work-rate is immense."
