Two magical goals from Erhun Oztumer saw the Saddlers run out clear and deserved victors at the County Ground in what was their first win on the road in League One this season.

Oztumer put his side ahead in the first half when he caught Lawrence Vigouroux off his line with a stunning strike from 40-yards.

The creative schemer then grabbed a second after the break when he spectacularly volleyed home Kevin Toner's long ball.

The win lifts Whitney's side up to 12th in League One. And the boss was quick to salute his team's all round-display.

Asked if it was the Erhun Oztumer show, Whitey said: "I thought it was the Walsall FC show.

"I thought tactically, technically, physically and psychologically we were the better team. I thought we executed the game plan to near enough perfection. That is what is pleasing for me.

"It is great for Erhun to get his goals. He almost got a hat-trick and if he had it would have been one the bets hat-trick we would ever see. He was excellent.

"But the pleasing thing for me was the way the lads stuck to the game plan. Swindon are a technical team but I thought we controlled the game for 90 minutes. We deserved it."

On Oztumer's goals, the boss added: "Both goals were incredible.

"The first, to have the know-how and understanding to score like that is amazing. You don't see many of them in a lifetime.

"But that is what Oztumer can do. The second was a fantastic finish. They were both outstanding goals."
