The Saddlers unveiled their new red and black chequered home strip and blue and white away kit at the start of the month and promised fans they would get their hands on them before pre-season.

But due to a manufacturing delay supporters could be waiting another three weeks to receive their purchases.

Club spokesman Dale Moon said: "The orders for our training wear and new playing kit were placed within the required deadlines. However, JD Sports have informed us that there has been a delay in the manufacturing process.

"We have been in constant dialogue with our kit suppliers and apologise on their behalf for the delay."

A JD spokesman added: "The kits were on schedule for sale pre-season however due to certain circumstances there is a slight delay. We would like to thank the fans for their patience and understanding."

The season starts on August 6.
