Walsall's pressing issue for Adam Chambers
Captain Adam Chambers has outlined what Walsall must do if they are to overcome Barnsley and turn the League One play-offs on their head.
The Saddlers head into Thursday's semi-final second leg with it all to do after slipping to a heavy 3-0 loss at Oakwell.
Paul Heckingbottom's Tykes impressed with their high intensity, high pressing game on Saturday with a Jason Demetriou own goal and two Sam Winnall strikes securing the resounding victory.
Heckingbottom admitted afterwards his team only has one way to play and that they will set up in the same way at the Banks's Stadium.
But Chambers believes Walsall have the ability to haul themselves back into the tie and secure the most dramatic of victories.
The captain said: "We know they are going to press us and I think we have to play past the press. Any square ball on Saturday they were ready to pounce on.
"We like to build from the back but at times they were ready for that. Fair play to them – they had done their homework on us and set up to stop us.
"I think it's up to us to play past that and maybe miss out that front press. We have given ourselves a lot to do but this is a talented team full of goalscorers.
"I have been around football long enough to know we still have a chance. We just have to keep believing and perform on the day."
Chambers insists history shows anything can happen in football, adding: "I have seen games where teams have overcome a 3-0 deficit in 45 minutes.
"Liverpool in the Champions League final springs to mind. We have got 90 minutes to do it.
"If we perform like we know we can then we give ourselves a good chance. We have shown this season we can do it.
"We showed it in the build-up to the Barnsley game with the wins over Shrewsbury, Fleetwood and Port Vale.
"We have left ourselves with a lot to do. But when the chances come on Thursday we have to take them."
Barnsley secured the heavy win despite finishing 10 points behind the Saddlers in the League One standings.
In the Championship, third-placed Brighton also lost their semi-final first leg against sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday.
But Chambers insists their is no hangover in the squad from just missing out on automatic promotion to Burton Albion.
He added: "We knew last Sunday that it was in Burton's hands and when you are asking favours of other people it's always a long shot.
"There is no disappointment about that. We would have liked to go up automatically but we are in the play-offs and it's up to us to perform.
"We have got be upbeat. We have got to have a bright few days and work on a game plan."
