But now it's emerged Jon Whitney's side travelled to Valley Parade in a team bus barring the crest of crisis club Aston Villa.
Villa's problems this season have been well documented with three league wins all season seeing them already relegated from the Premier League.
Now it seems their poor form rubbed off on to the Saddlers who now need to quickly dust themselves down for tomorrow's clash against West Midlands rivals Shrewsbury Town.
