Walsall's Rico Henry up for league award
Walsall's Rico Henry has been short-listed for the Football League Young Player of the Year award.
The talented 18-year-old is the only nominee playing outside the Championship with Fulham's Moussa Dembele and Lewis Cook of Leeds the other candidates.
Henry has wowed Saddlers fans, with his performances at left-back and on the left-wing this season.
The winner of the prestigious gong will be announced at the Football League Awards in Manchester on April 17.
Last year's trophy was presented to Milton Keynes Dons' Dele Alli who has since gone on to take the Premier League by storm with Tottenham.
Gareth Bale, Wilfried Zaha and Nathaniel Clyne are some of the other winners.
Shaun Harvey, chief executive of the Football League, said: "We're delighted to announce the short-list of this hugely prestigious award.
"The strength of the Young Player of the Year short-list continues to highlight the wealth of young talent that exists throughout the Football League. We wish all three players the very best of luck."
