The Saddlers were due to travel to the Priestfield Stadium on Good Friday but the match is now likely to be re-arranged for a Tuesday night in April.

Neil Etheridge, Romaine Sawyers and Jason Demetriou have been called up for the Philippines, St. Kitts & Nevis and Cyprus respectively.

There is also potential for Tom Bradshaw to be called up by Wales and Rico Henry by England under-19s.

Walsall's home clash with Shrewsbury on Easter Monday has not yet been postponed with Demetriou set to be released by Cyprus in the time for the Banks's clash.

But the decision to postpone the Gillingham game has angered Gills chairman Paul Scally who believes the match would have been picked for television coverage if it had gone ahead.

A statement on the Gills website said: "Gillingham Chairman Paul Scally is angered and disappointed for numerous reasons that the Walsall game planned for Good Friday has to be postponed.

"As we all know it is a hugely important weekend for football and the fact that Gillingham and Walsall are in the top six means there will be a significant impact on the income benefits for Gillingham. "The general opinion is that it is the wrong time of year for internationals to be planned during such an important weekend of domestic football.

"We believe we had an opportunity of the game being broadcast live and thus the postponement will cost us in the region of £50,000+ when associated match day revenue is added to the TV fee.

"We can only apologise to all our fans but this fixture change is completely out of our control."

Meanwhile, Albion's scheduled game at Arsenal this weekend has been postponed after the Gunners beat Hull City 4-0 in an FA Cup fifth-round replay last night.

The Baggies were due to play a Premier League game at the Emirates at 5.30pm this Saturday but Arsene Wenger's team are now hosting Watford in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.

It means Albion's trip to North London will be rearranged by the Premier League and will take place in midweek on a date yet to be determined.

Tony Pulis's team now have a break until Saturday, March 19, when they host Norwich City at The Hawthorns.
