Sean O'Driscoll to be unveiled as new Walsall boss at 12.30pm
Walsall fans have reacted positively to the news Sean O'Driscoll is set to become the club's new boss.
The 58-year-old former Doncaster Rovers and Nottingham Forest manager is widely believed to be the man set to be unveiled at a press conference called for 12.30pm today.
Wolverhampton-born O'Driscoll will replace Dean Smith at the Banks's.
Despite the news not yet being confirmed, the majority of Saddlers fans see the former Willenhall Town midfielder as the man to take them forward.
"I think it is a great appointment," said Steve Davies, secretary of the Walsall Football Supporters Trust.
"He is local to the area, has been with the England youth set-up so has a good grounding with youngsters and also has a proven track record in this division.
"A Sean O'Driscoll side is a good footballing side and he will continue with the philosophy implemented by Dean Smith.
"The vast majority of fans seem happy with the decision which is important because this is a huge appointment. When you look at our league position and how we have played this season we have a real chance of winning promotion."
A poll on the Express & Star website showed that 77 per cent of supporters backed O'Driscoll's appointment.
