Former Walsall boss Dean Smith speaks for first time as Brentford manager
Former Walsall boss Dean Smith has spoken for the first time since taking over of Championship outfit Brentford.
The 44-year-old left the Saddlers on Monday, along with his assistant Richard O'Kelly after almost five years in the charge at the Banks's.
Smith spoke at his unveiling alongside Brentford co-director Rasmus Ankersen.
"It's is an exciting project here and there is a strategy which is in line with my values," he said.
"There are some good players here and it is an exciting project to get involved in.
"The long-term aim for this football club is Premier League football and that is a short-term aim as well.
"The style of play here is very much aligned to how I want to play, I like attacking, pleasing on the eye football.
"It is a great job and a great opportunity.
"The club have done their due diligence on me and I have done it on them, once I did, it was a no-brainer for me to sign."
