Super Tom Bradshaw set to step on to the global stage
Walsall's Tom Bradshaw has been given a chance to earn a place in Wales' Euro 2016 squad after winning his first senior call-up.
The 23-year-old, the Saddlers' top scorer this season with nine goals, has been included in Chris Coleman's 23-man squad for a friendly with the Netherlands on November 13.
Bradshaw has featured for Wales at both under-19 and under-21 level and previously been on standby for the senior squad.
The forward described the call-up on social media as his 'proudest moment in football'.
Bradshaw saw his selection hopes boosted after Gareth Bale was allowed to stay with Real Madrid.
Reading's Hal Robson-Kanu was also ruled out with an ankle injury.
Coleman said: "Tom has done very well at Walsall, already notching up nine goals this season.
"On the back of us losing some of our strikers, he has got the nod. I'm pleased and delighted for him. He is there on merit."
Fellow Saddlers Romaine Sawyers and Neil Etheridge also received international calls yesterday for Saint Kitts and Nevis and the Philippines respectively.
The three call-ups mean Walsall's League One clash with rivals Shrewsbury, scheduled for November 14, has been postponed.
Bradshaw, who began his career at Greenhous Meadow, scored 20 goals in his first season at the Banks's despite missing 20 games through injury.
This term he has picked up where he left off and been a key part in the Saddlers' ascent to the top of League One.
Meanwhile, Walsall have confirmed Manchester City have granted permission for on-loan midfielder George Evans to play in Saturday's FA Cup clash with Fleetwood. And the 20-year-old can't wait for the clash.
"Other than the Champions League I believe the FA Cup is the best cup competition there is," he said.
