Trickster Milan Lalkovic has issued a rallying call to Walsall's fans ahead of tomorrow's top-of-the-table clash against Gillingham.

A win for Dean Smith's side will see them leapfrog their opponents and return to the summit of League One.

Lalkovic is set for his third straight start after scoring in the last two games against Barnsley and Colchester.

And the creative schemer wants as many Saddlers supporters as possible at the game to ensure the Banks's Stadium is rocking.

"I've really enjoyed the atmosphere at home this season," he said.

"It makes a difference, it adds that extra little bit of motivation.

"It shouldn't do but it does.

"Everyone knows the crowd can be the 12th man and when you hear them after you make a tackle or clearance it makes you feel great.

"It's amazing to play in front of a big crowd and I hope as many people as possible come to the game tomorrow.

"If you have time to get to the game, please come because it's a top-of-the-table clash and we want your support."

Lalkovic's goals against Barnsley and Colchester took his tally for the season for three, with the winger previously on target in the Capital One Cup win against Brighton.

The 22-year-old netted six times in his first spell with the club back in the 2013/14 season while he was on loan from Chelsea.

"In my first time here I scored a few goals and I want to beat that this season and get a few assists as well," the Czechoslovakia-born star said.

"Last season at Barnsley I didn't get the numbers even though I had a lot of starts – who knows why that was?

"But the way I am playing now, I have grown up a little bit – I am a little bit older and a little bit wiser.

"I am managing my game a lot more and I feel I am a threat.

"I have an end product which still needs to be improved in order to hit the next level but I am doing well.

"Now I just need to keep it up and keep working hard in training so I get better."
