Super Tom Bradshaw hails work of 'great boss Dean Smith'
Star striker Tom Bradshaw has praised boss Dean Smith, insisting Walsall's manager is the single biggest factor in the club's early season success.
Smith has masterminded the Saddlers' blistering start to the season which sees them top League One with 25 points from their opening 12 games.
But that success hasn't gone unnoticed with Championship outfit Rotherham making a move for the popular boss last week.
That approach was immediately rebuffed by the Saddlers board – much to relief of Bradshaw and the rest of the squad.
"The gaffer is key for us," the prolific forward said.
"Every player at the club, the way we play, the philosophy is all down to the gaffer and the way he wants us to play.
"Every player has bought into it, every staff member has bought into it and personally, the gaffer has done wonders for myself.
"I came here with a bit-part career and he has made me into the player I am. I've got a lot to thank him for."
"He has got a lot of big strengths.
"His man-management is up there. He is great with all the lads on a day-to-day basis and when it comes to picking the squad and picking the 11.
"I can't criticise him one bit for the way he goes about his job and he has got the respect of everyone at the club and in the dressing room."
Bradshaw also described Adam Chambers as the club's unsung hero after the skipper produced a man of the match display in the 2-0 win over Burton Albion on Saturday.
"Chambers is a very important player for us," the 23-year-old added.
"He is in a slightly deeper role this year and is the one that keeps recycling the play.
"He is a bit of an unsung hero because doesn't necessarily get the goals or score screamers from 30 yards but he is key to what we do.
"Without him, we wouldn't be anywhere near as effective and to have him there, our captain, he is the glue that holds us all together."
