Jose Mourinho: Saddlers the best I've seen

Jose Mourinho insists Walsall are the best League One team he has ever seen following Chelsea's victory in the Capital One Cup.

The cup holders and Premier League champions ran out 4-1 winners in Wednesday night's third-round clash thanks to goals from Ramires, Loic Remy, Kenedy and Pedro.

Mourinho – whose side were beaten by Walsall's League One rivals Bradford City in last season's FA Cup – showed his respect for the Saddlers and the competition by naming a side packed with internationals, which included the likes of John Terry, Gary Cahill, Branislav Ivanovic and Falcao.

And the former Read Madrid boss was hugely impressed with Dean Smith's side.

"In years of cup experience, I haven't found a team in League One playing the quality of football Walsall tried to play," he said. "I analysed Walsall before. I watched a couple of their matches in League One. I was surprised with the quality of their play.

"Walsall are a different team to normal in League One – not so physical, but technically fast. Tom Bradshaw didn't play and I think they missed him because he has great movement and he gives lot of solutions for the team.

"They were very well organised. I have years and years in this country and I have never seen a team in League One with that quality. I hope everything goes well for them."
